On 20th November 2007, a group of 40 burmese nationals staged a short peaceful protest at downtown area of Singapore, Orchard Road. The protest came about due to their disappointment after hearing ASEAN's non-interfering stand towards Burma and ASEAN's decision to respect the so-called wishes of SPDC (Burmese military junta). The protestors wore red t-shirts with wordings such as "Please save the monks and people of burma" .. "We pursue peace, justice and democracy for Burma". Those who are ask to shown their IC are already leaves Singapore by now.
