No2, lamborghini Reventon, Top 10 Most Expensive Car 2008

Lamborghini Reventon
$ 1,400,000
All 20 planned examples of this $1.4 million car found owners in a flash, so don’t even bother with sucking up to your rich relatives for an advance on your inheritance. You could save over $1 million by taking the “common” Murcielago on which the Reventon is based, get a couple spray cans of olive drab paint and achieve nearly the same effect. Just keep admirers at least 100 yards away, and they’ll never notice the difference. You get what you pay for: It may resemble the Murcielago, but no other Lambo wears this body or this unique matte paint scheme.

No.3, Koenigsegg CCX, Top 10 Most Expensive Car 2008

Koenigseeg CCX
$ 695,000
When Koenigsegg first hit the scene in 2001, critics and enthusiasts were amazed by what was possible -- from a Swedish car. That qualification was always thrown in as if geographically devaluing the accomplishment, like “best Cuban skier” or “skinniest Wisconsinite.” There’s none of that with the CCX. It’s simply amazing in its own right. Just a tad behind the SSC Ultimate Aero and Bugatti Veyron in performance, and with a top speed of around 245 mph, the CCX pulls away from both with arguably better styling inside and out. You get what you pay for: Supremacy that happens to be Swedis.

No.4, SSC Ultimate Aero, Top 10 Most Expensive Car 2008

SSC Ultimate Aero
$ 675,000
SSC is the abbreviated name for Shelby Supercars. No, Carroll Shelby is not behind this; it’s Jerod Shelby (no relation). Yes, the Ultimate Aero flies as though Ol’ Shel’ had a hand in the project (though he didn’t). For the moment at least, this is the fastest production car out there, with a top verified speed of 256.14 mph. Representatives from Guinness World Records were on hand and proclaimed it to be true. It may not be the most beautiful design on the road, but when you fly past in a blur, who’s really going to notice? You get what you pay for: Bragging rights.
